Admissions Process

The Dallas Group Analytic Practice accepts people who desire psychotherapy in order to grow and change emotionally.  Referrals may come through health professionals or directly from the patient or family.

To process a person's request for service, we ask that the patient, family, and/or present therapist contact the office to discuss the patient's needs with one of our doctors:

An initial consultation is then arranged in order to discuss problems and treatment needs, as well as hopes and expectations. The fee for the initial consultation is $130. If group psychotherapy is the treatment of choice then the appropriate group and time will be arranged. The patient will then meet and interview the group therapist to learn more specifically about the group and to decide whether it is a good match.  There is no charge for this second interview.  If the match doesn't work, we continue to work with the individual to find the appropriate group and group therapist.

If group is not indicated at this time, the consultant will work with the individual to determine whether individual, couples, family, or some other type of therapy will be better suited to their needs.

If the individual has never been in therapy before or the referring therapist would like it, a personality test is given to clarify the treatment issues.  In this case, a second session is scheduled to go over the results of the test and the group treatment contracts.

Health Insurance is accepted and due to the wide diversity of plans is worked out on an individual basis.
